Registration for the 2025 Spring Soccer Season is now OPEN, coincidentally on a rainy day. Please use the TeamSnap registration link found at the top of the school athletics website - https://www.stbarnabasparish.school/apps/pages/athleticregistration
Practices for all teams will begin near around the completion of the winter sports season, obviously weather dependent. Last year, it was 70 and sunny in February. Two years ago it snowed in April. We never know what we're going to get. But coaches will have equipment and just like the fall, we'll get in as many as we can before the season starts.
Youth registrations MUST be completed by Pulaski Day (Monday March 3rd).
JV and Varsity registrations MUST be completed by Presidents Day (Monday February 17th).
Team placements will be completed around March 10th.
Indoor Practice at the EPCHS Sports Complex will be Tues 3/18 or Thurs 3/20 at 7:30p.
Pack the Park is tentatively scheduled for Saturday May 10th.
More details on all of these dates will be provided once registration is complete and the schedules are finalized.

About Spring Soccer
YOUTH SOCCER DETAILS: Grades K - 4
The Spring program for younger kids is competitive soccer, relatively speaking, played amongst other area schools through the St. Linus Spring League. Players of all skill levels are grouped into two grade levels (1st/2nd | 3rd/4th) per league. Kindergarteners get their first chance at competitive soccer with a very friendly league. Coaches will be on the field with the players instructing them on the basics of the beautiful game.
With Easter being so late this year, St. Linus has not yet provided all of the details about this season. It will likely involve about 10 games over five weeks, from early April through mid-May, with an end-of-season tournament between Mother's Day and Memorial Day weekend. Last year, the Championship was on the Thursday night before Memorial Day. Because of the tighter schedule and more variable weather than the Fall League, the number of practices is limited, usually happening on a best-efforts basis.
JV and VARSITY DETAILS: Grades 5 - 8
The league has announced that the season could start as early as March 23rd, with the regular season concluding on May 18th. The top 4 teams will make the playoffs, with the semi-finals taking place the week before Memorial Day and the Championships taking place near Graduation Day. Six games will be played during that 8-week season. With a longer period to complete these games, we try our best to avoid graduation events, the Spring play, and volleyball conflicts. Practices are usually scheduled twice per week, but with the aforementioned conflicts and weather concerns, historically, it has been one per week at best in the spring season.
As of today, the plan is to have two teams per level, likely a boys Varsity, a co-ed Varsity, and two co-ed JV teams. A girls-only varsity team has not yet been ruled out, but the league did not have enough girls-only teams last year to have a separate league for just girls.
